San Diego County jury awarded $11.2 million to a 74-year-old former employee of Octapharma Plasma Inc., in an age discrimination, failure to accommodate, and wrongful termination trial. The employee faced termination after working 19 years at Octapharma Plasma, Inc. A pre-trial settlement offer of $150,000 plus fees was rejected. The jury returned a verdict of $11.205 million—$2.205 million in non-economic damages and $9 million in punitive damages.
